Safer schools for everyone

The term “bullying” is referring to every type of abuse and violent behavior, although there has been a lot of talk in Serbia in recent years about “peer bullying” – there hasn’t been a profound understanding of what type of violence is meant by that term. Traditional society doesn’t see a problem in the behavior of one or a group of students – unless the consequences are fatal. Incomprehension of the problem is much wider that the lack of understanding of the term and the lack of empathy with the young victims of, not only physical, but also verbal and internet abuse, negligence, mocking, harassment etc. The first step towards the adoption of a comprehensive law in Serbia that will deal with bullying in schools is to understand the problem and listen to the experts from different countries who have found a good way to implement this law.
